The Apple Mac mini has come a good distance since it was initially introduced in 2005. The 2011 Mac mini refresh represents a radical change for Apple’s tiny form factor PC. The aging Core two Couple is gone, replaced by second-generation Sandy Bridge Core i5 processors. This is an important improvement in processing power for the Mac mini, which was compelled to skip over the first-generation Core iX chips because its onboard graphics were not up to standard, there wasn’t any room for a discrete graphics chip and a legal dispute forestalled an integral Nvidia chipset being used.
